[FREE version]Starting guide for migrating from Bubble to FlutterFlow
As you know, Bubble announced a major price revision in April 2023. Many developers running Bubble apps feel uncomfortable with this pay-as-you-go pricing system. I am also one of them, Having worked with clients and my own apps, I was shocked by this announcement.
However, what makes me different from many Bubble developers is that around the time of the announcement of the price revision proposal last year (which was later withdrawn), I constantly researched other app development environments, actually tested them, and developed the app. It's been building. As such, moving from Bubble to another environment is within the realm of possibility.
There are several possible migration destinations, but I chose FlutterFlow among them. This document provides an overview of why we made that decision and how it is possible to migrate your Bubble app to FlutterFlow in practice. FlutterFlow looks similar to Bubble and it doesn't take long to get used to. However, when I tried it, it became clear that there were some challenges that had to be overcome.
We will also show you some features that you can quickly realize with FlutterFlow that weren't easy with Bubble. By sharing this information early on and as compactly as possible, we hope to save developers valuable time searching for tools.
Inspired by this book, in the limited time of 18 months from May 2023, more developers will be able to make a smooth and rewarding transition and release apps with more sophisticated and enhanced functions, I hope.
Note: Those who choose to stay on Bubble will need to find another alternative. It is up to each of us to find a migration destination that meets our needs and make the transition happen. This book does not cover the details of the migration procedure, but rather introduces my personal thoughts on the selection of the migration destination and case studies. Also, learning FlutterFlow requires a lot of information, so technical details are beyond the scope of this book. I'd love to feature it in a sequel if there's more hope for it.
Target audience: People who are interested in no-code development with Bubble and are developing some kind of app. No coding background is required, but we assume that you are highly motivated to learn new technologies.
